"My Utmost For His Highest" by Oswald Chambers is one of the finest daily devotionals ever written. The book was first published in English in 1935. Oswald Chambers passed away in 1917.

Please be patient as you read this book, which combines admirable brevity with great spiritual depth. It is the mark of a true classic that every time you read a page, you glean something new. Mother Theresa famously said: "Whatever you believe in, go deeper into it, then you will know the Truth!"

Oswald Chambers was born in Scotland and spent much of his boyhood there. His ministry of teaching and preaching took him for a time to the United States and Japan. Thoughts

JohnTen10 & Abundant Life

"…I came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullest."
John 10:10 — CEV Bible

I believe this is what our Lord Jesus Christ, Triune God gives us: Abundant Life. "Life in its fullest." When there is deep contentment and gratitude in us to God, when we realize we have much more than we deserve, that Salvation is the greatest of all blessings — this is Abundant Life.

Christianity Today says it well: Abundant life is not about what we have. It's not about what we get. Ultimately, abundant life is about what we receive as a gift from the Lord — and to live knowing we are stewards of the blessings of God. When we have enough of the blessings of God to share with others, and then actually do it; that's when we truly have abundant life.

Reflection

Jana Gana Mana

My favourite song today is our National Anthem, because its meaning is connected to Salvation. After reading the meaning below, I hope you will also love our National Anthem by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Thou art the ruler of the minds of all people, dispenser of India's destiny. Thy name rouses the hearts of Punjab, Sind, Gujarat and Maratha, of the Dravid and Orissa and Bengal. It echoes in the hills of Vindhyas and Himalayas, mingles in the music of Yamuna and Ganga, and is chanted by the waves of the Indian Sea. The salvation of all people is in thy hand. Victory, Victory, Victory to thee.

Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka Jaya He · Bharat Bhagya Vidhata · Punjab Sindh Gujarat Maratha · Dravida Utkala Banga · Vindhya Himachal Yamuna Ganga · Ucchala Jaladhi Taranga · Jaye He! Jaye He! Jaye He!

"Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
  by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
  into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee
  into ever-widening thought and action —
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake."

— Rabindranath Tagore

Personal Faith

Why I believe in Jesus Christ

63-year-old male, born to Christian parents, Indian, average intelligence, average education, faculties in reasonable working condition, okay family background and upbringing.

Better people than me have put their faith in Jesus Christ — my grandfather, great-grandfather, parents, wife. I am impressed by the greatest commandments: "Love God, Love others as you Love Yourself." The Way to go? Yes.
